I am a devoted fan of the Big 12, a conference that I believe should consist of only those universities that truly want to be part of it, and are able to enhance our reputation and competitiveness. My concern today is the University of Utah. I strongly feel, as do many others, that they are not a proper fit for our conference.

Their fanbase and administration seem to be under the scrutiny and criticism of other members of the conference. It's a concern pointed out by fans, students and even some officials which creates divisive environment within the conference. Similarly, the University of Utah's athletic performances, especially in football and basketball, do not add any value to Big 12. In fact, their lack of competitiveness in these key sports is limiting the overall progress and prestige of the conference.

For the good of the Big 12, and to maintain the high-quality sporting experience we all value, it is crucial that members meet the standards that ensure the prestige of our conference. It is out of this love for Big 12 that I strongly urge the reconsideration of the University of Utah's membership.
