We, the concerned residents of Douglasville urge the local authorities to reconsider the recent installation of new stop signs in our community at Wembley Dr. and Prescott way.  We believe that these additional stop signs are unnecessary and only serve to inconvenience drivers without providing any significant safety benefits.  The existing stop signs have served our neighborhood for over 20 years with no issues.

1. Lack of Traffic Congestion:
The introduction of these new stop signs has caused unnecessary traffic congestion within our neighborhood. The previous traffic flow was smooth and efficient, allowing residents to navigate their daily commutes without delays or frustration. The sudden imposition of these extra stops disrupts this balance and creates bottlenecks that negatively impact everyone's daily lives.

2. Absence of Accident Data:
There is a lack of concrete evidence supporting the need for additional stop signs at Wembly Dr. and Prescott Way intersection. According to official accident reports from local law enforcement agencies, there have been no recorded accidents or incidents at this particular intersection over the past five years prior to the installation of these new stop signs.  The HOA and police department will not provide the information of the recent radars.  

3. False information provided by HOA:
No official residential survey was conducted by HOA but was presented to the city as overwhelming support from the neighborhood. Several neighbors did not receive emails regarding the stop signs. Speed radar was only up a few days at this intersection.  Previous radars were located at the front of the neighborhood and should not impact the decision to add stop signs in the rear of the neighborhood.

4. Community Consensus:
A significant number of residents were not consulted or informed about this decision before its implementation, leading us to question its necessity altogether. As members directly affected by these changes, we believe it is crucial for community input to be considered before making such alterations that impact our daily lives.

5.  The HOA has put the focus on a school bus stop saying the intersection is dangerous for kids catching the bus.  The children that catch the bus are located behind the already existing stop sign on Prescot Way and should not have to cross the  street.  If they do, the school bus has its own stop sign to cross Wembley Street. 

We respectfully request that you take immediate action by removing these unnecessary stop signs from Wembley Dr. and Prescott Way intersection in Kensington neighborhood in Douglasville. By doing so, you will restore efficient traffic flow while maintaining an appropriate level of safety measures already in place.

We trust that you will consider our concerns and prioritize the well-being and convenience of the residents in Kensington neighborhood. Together, let's work towards a solution that benefits everyone while ensuring a safe and efficient road network within our community.
