The Issue

As a concerned member of our community in Oakleaf Plantation, Florida, I have witnessed firsthand the divisive rhetoric that Turning Point USA often promotes. I've heard remarks made by Charlie Kirk, a figurehead of this organization, regarding people of my race, gender, and identity. Such statements are not only harmful but go against the inclusive environment our schools strive to nurture.

Turning Point USA, known for spreading political ideologies in educational settings, poses a potential risk to the students and faculty at our schools. The organization's mission to promote divisive political agendas can lead to an unsupportive and potentially hostile environment, which is not conducive to learning or personal development. Schools should be safe spaces free from partisan politics that often alienate and divide people.

In an educational environment, our primary focus should be on nurturing the minds and potential of young individuals without the interference of excessive political bias or propaganda. A school should be a place where every student feels safe, respected, and valued without the fear of being marginalized due to their race, gender, or personal beliefs.

It is essential to maintain an atmosphere where students and educators can focus on education and growth, free from political pressure. Let's prioritize an inclusive and respectful environment for all students and faculty. Encouraging political involvement is important, but it should be unbiased and educational, rather than one-sided and contentious.

I am calling on the school district of Oakleaf Plantation to take decisive action in removing Turning Point USA operations from our schools. By doing so, we safeguard the collective well-being of our students and faculty, ensuring a supportive and neutral educational atmosphere.

Please sign this petition to urge school administrators and district leaders to prioritize the safety and unity of our community by keeping divisive groups out of our educational system. Your support can make a difference in fostering a more inclusive school environment for everyone.
