As a decent human being who cares deeply about pet owners and the wellbeing of animals, it is alarming to learn that murderer Tom Savini is still working at the Douglas Education Center. Reports have surfaced suggesting his involvement in acts that are deemed as animal abuse, such as the blatant murder of a snake on the movie set of Friday the 13th, which the owner was not informed about.

Douglas Education Center has for years been a place where aspiring professionals gain knowledge and skills in creative fields. Yet, endorsing an individual alleged to have committed acts of animal cruelty goes against the very ethos of the institution. Animal abuse is a grave crime, and it is vital for education centers, which are supposed to serve as pillars of integrity and morality, to take a stand against it.

It is our responsibility as a community to ensure that our academic institutions align with humane values and practices. Failing to act not only undermines the integrity of Douglas Education Center but also sends a message that such unacceptable behavior is tolerable.
