I live in Clermont, Florida in the subdivision called 'Marsh Hammock'. In the last few days 'they' (arbitrary) have decided to put up a 180ft 'tree' type cell tower directly outside the neighborhood entrance.

It is proven that neighborhoods that are close in proximity to cell towers are significantly devalued. 

While it is not proven that close proximity to cell towers cause cancer and other diseases, other countries have done numerous studies that people living within 1/4 mile of a tower have a 10-fold increase in certain cancers. 

The typical path to building a cell tower involves an application, then informing residents so they can oppose during a town hall, an announcement in the local paper, and then the approval or denial. 

After calling around, I found out that this cell tower did not have to take this path because of the zoning of the property. No residents were informed, no newspaper article, etc. The property is already 'zoned' for it. There was nothing us residents could do to fight back!

So now I'm asking for your help. Even though the US's stance is 'there is no strong evidence that living near a cell tower causes cancer, there still needs to be more studies' (that's not very reassuring). Please consider signing this petition to get this cell tower removed. Think of your families, would you want something in your neighborhood that significantly devalues your property and may or may not be hazardous to your health?
