Many of us who live in Barry go to the seaside to relieve stress and enjoy the peace that nature brings. The “welcome to Barry” megaphone announcements are anything but welcoming. It’s a long drawn out announcement on loop about not drinking, litter, not having dogs on the beach (even in the 6 months they are allowed on the beach) and has a horrible undertone of threat with “enforcement officers on patrol”. Having signs is one thing but this awful announcement is just so awful and unwelcoming and the fact it’s on loop is just irritating and spoils it for local people. It’s like living in some utopian movie like demolition man. Please allow us to enjoy our beach IN PEACE! There are much less annoying ways to inform the rules such as signs !
