For many years, Sharpstown High School allowed students to dress themselves in clothing they were comfortable in, but now, they are now enforcing a uniform policy among us. The high school is located in an area where most families can’t afford the uniforms which might result in many students being punished by not following the school’s rules. Also, this policy was made LAST MINUTE which will make a lot of families struggle to earn the money for the uniforms on time for the school year. We don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars for uniforms that we will be able to use for one year. We want to wear our clothes from home, which can be worn pretty much everywhere unlike uniforms. Us students want this uniform policy to be gone for the 2023-2024 school year and years forward. Please sign this petition and spread the word to help the families who can’t afford the uniforms and make us students feel comfortable while attending class.
