Original petition info:
I am a resident of Venice, Los Angeles, CA and have been living here for 15 years. Recently, a U-turn blockade was installed at the intersection of Glyndon and Venice Blvd. This change has not only caused a major inconvenience (15-20 minutes of additional commute time) but also increased the risk of accidents.
There are concerns that they might install a permanent barrier all the way across, which will grossly affect neighborhoods on the North and South side of Venice. This is an outrage, especially since there hasn't been ONE accident in THREE years.
The safety issue was ALREADY addressed several years ago when they put in barriers preventing people from driving across all lanes. Let's work together to reinstate the safe, useful, and legal U-turn at Glyndon and Venice and avoid exacerbating traffic at incredibly congested intersections like Walgrove and Lincoln/Venice.
We urge city officials to reconsider this decision and remove the U-turn blockade at Glyndon and Venice Blvd in order for residents like myself can return home safely without unnecessary detours or risks.
