The Issue

Remove the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) from Philadelphia, PA

Concerned Residents of Philadelphia

For far too long, the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) has operated without meaningful oversight or accountability — and it’s hurting the people of Philadelphia.

We, the undersigned, are calling on Mayor Cherelle Parker, the Philadelphia City Council, and Pennsylvania State Legislators to take immediate action to dismantle or restructure the PPA, and return control over parking enforcement and management to the City of Philadelphia.

Why this matters:

The PPA is known for aggressive, confusing, and often predatory ticketing practices that disproportionately burden working-class residents. Small businesses are suffering, trust in the agency is low, and the lack of transparency around where the money goes raises serious concerns.

Instead of serving the people, the PPA has become a source of stress and financial hardship for thousands.

We’re asking for:

A full independent audit of the PPA’s finances, policies, and leadership.
Legislation to dissolve or restructure the PPA and return local control to Philadelphia.
A new, city-run agency with oversight by elected officials and community leaders to manage parking fairly and transparently.

Philadelphia deserves a parking system that supports residents, not one that punishes them.

Sign this petition to demand change. Let’s take back control of our streets.
