remove the Honey Birdette stores from our family friendly environments

The issue

I would like to discuss quite a serious subject and urge you all to read the whole story and share. I am after some reinforcement against this issue. Yesterday, Danielle and a couple of her friends went to a store called "Honey Birdette" at Westfield Tea Tree Plaza thinking it was similar to a Bras n Things store. Upon entering, the manager rudely told them to leave as they are not over 18. So they did. Since when has any child been asked to leave a store in a shopping centre because they're not over 18!!! I have since done some investigating and have found that these stores which are popping up all over Australia are selling sex toys and erotica that are located in the back section. These stores are getting slammed by mothers like myself for being placed in our family friendly environments due to the nature of their items.
Quoted from the owners mouth ""We tend to sell everything that's provocative - it's all about the bedroom at Honey Birdette, it's all about sex, obviously," she said. (Quote taken from another article)
I am outraged!!! They say the store is 18+ but not legally, so any child of ours can walk in and legally not have to leave if asked. A store selling this type of content has a place but its definitely not where our young children can be exposed to it. I visited the store today and got into quite a loud discussion with the manager who threatened to call security on me due to me expressing the worries of a mother!!! I will be taking this further as I want to see these stores removed from our family friendly shopping centres. It just ISN'T RIGHT!!
