Remove the Glazers from Manchester United ownership
The Issue
Manchester United is not just a football club; it is a global community, a symbol of excellence and an institution with a storied history of success. For millions of fans across the world, Manchester United represents more than just a team; it is a way of life, a part of our identity, and a source of immense pride. However, the spirit and future of this club are under threat under the ownership of the Glazers.
Since the Glazers took over in 2005, there has been a growing concern over their management of the club. The initial leveraged buyout led to the club accruing significant debt, a burden that has hindered our ability to compete effectively in the transfer market. Concerns are only growing as the club's financial decisions appear more driven by profit than passion for football greatness. This has resulted in questionable investments and an array of management decisions that have left fans frustrated and disillusioned.
The impact is evident in our performances on the pitch. Once dominant in the Premier League and Europe, Manchester United struggles to reclaim its former glory. Management decisions under the Glazers have also been less focused on reinforcing the club's competitive edge, despite having the resources to attract top talent. Turnovers in managerial staff and players have only added to the instability.
This petition calls on the Premier League and relevant governing bodies to intervene and establish new ownership guidelines that prioritise both financial health and the sport’s integrity. We demand transparency and accountability from current owners and an action plan to transition ownership to individuals or groups who truly respect the club’s legacy and are committed to its future success.
The unity and voice of Manchester United fans have always been powerful. It is time to channel that strength once again to safeguard our beloved club's legacy. Sign this petition to support the call for change. Let your voice be heard to protect the essence of Manchester United for current and future generations of fans. Join us in demanding better for Manchester United—our club, our history, our passion.
