The investigation is over — and the results are damning.
Following an on-site inspection at the Oregon Renaissance Faire in Canby, Oregon OSHA has issued 12 separate citations against Wandering in Time Productions LLC, the for-profit company that runs the event. Seven of those violations are classified as “serious” under Oregon law.
This is not speculation — it’s official confirmation from Oregon’s workplace safety agency that the hazardous conditions workers have described for years were real, preventable, and unlawful.
What Oregon OSHA Found
The final enforcement report documents a pattern of neglect across multiple areas of the operation:
• Fall Hazards – Workers at height without mandated fall protection.
• Unsafe Equipment Use – Forklifts and man baskets operated without proper training or safety precautions.
• Heat Illness Risk – No effective program to protect workers during extreme summer temperatures.
• Lack of Worker Representation – No functioning safety committee, despite being a legal requirement.
• Public-Facing Risks – Hazardous bar and concessions setups that could endanger both staff and guests.
Under Oregon law, each “serious” violation means the hazard had a substantial probability of causing death or major injury — and Oregon OSHA has now confirmed these conditions existed during the 2024 Oregon Renaissance Faire.
A Long Time Coming
Workers, volunteers, and performers have been warning about unsafe builds, extreme heat, and retaliatory firings for years. At the Oregon Renfaire, many were told the hazards were “just part of the job” — and those who spoke out often faced pressure to stay quiet.
Now, Oregon OSHA’s findings put those stories into the official record. This is no longer rumor or hearsay. It is documented fact.
What Happens Next
With citations issued, WITP is legally required to correct these violations by Oregon OSHA’s deadline. Whether they follow through — and whether the changes stick — will be the real test.
We will be monitoring Oregon OSHA’s compliance process closely and will release all documents when they become public.

Why This Matters
The Oregon Renaissance Faire draws thousands of guests each day and generates millions in revenue. Every structure, stage, and serving counter is built by human hands. When leadership cuts corners on safety, it puts both workers and the public in danger.
The faire’s magic should rest on craftsmanship and care — not on broken safety laws. Oregon OSHA’s enforcement action is an overdue step toward that goal.
