Remove the Double-Double Yellow Line Blocking Access to Boston Donut

The Issue

Boston Donut, a family-owned business that has served La Habra with love and dedication since 1986, is now fighting for its survival. For nearly 40 years, this shop has been more than just a place to enjoy a donut—it’s been a community hub, a familiar and welcoming place where La Habra residents come together.

Now, this beloved business faces unfair obstacles. A corporate-owned Krispy Kreme is opening directly across the street, and at the same time, road changes have made it nearly impossible for customers to access Boston Donut. The city recently painted double-double yellow lines on the road, making it illegal to turn left into the Boston Donut parking lot. On top of that, a “no U-turn” restriction has been added, completely cutting off convenient access to the shop.

While Krispy Kreme will have prime access for drivers, Boston Donut is now unfairly restricted—robbing a small, family-run business of its chance to compete on a level playing field. This is not just about road changes; this is about fairness, local pride, and standing up for the small businesses that make La Habra unique.

We’re calling on the community and city to stand up for small businesses and fairness. Remove the double-double yellow lines, lift the “no U-turn” restriction, and give Boston Donut the chance to compete on a level playing field.

Join us in standing against corporate bullying, protecting local businesses, and keeping the heart of La Habra alive. Sign this petition today to show your support for Boston Donut and all small businesses that make our community unique.
