I am a concerned resident of Buckie, where I have lived with my family for 4 years. Our peaceful community has been shattered by the haunting presence of a convicted pedophile, Steven Wishart, residing at 119 Well Road, Buckie, AB56 1NQ. This individual, guilty of the most heinous crimes against our most vulnerable, lives directly next to families with young children and plays a direct threat to their safety.

Wishart's location, dangerously close to a local play park, casts a long shadow over our neighbourhood. Our children, who should be enjoying the innocent joys of childhood in safety, are now at risk. His continued presence in this area not only makes our community unsafe but also breaches his council tenancy agreement, which presumably was established to ensure community safety.

The statistics surrounding the recidivism rates for offenders of such crimes are alarming. Research shows that the risk of re-offending for individuals like Wishart is notably high, posing a sustained risk to our children and community wellbeing. This is a risk we cannot afford to take, and we demand decisive action from our council representatives.

We call upon the Moray Council to review Steven Wishart's tenancy agreement and to align with community safety standards by ensuring his removal from our neighbourhood. It is imperative that our local council prioritizes the well-being and protection of its residents, especially our children, by enforcing the rules that should govern the safety of our living environments.
