Living next to the green belt in Katy, TX, my family and I experience firsthand the challenges that come with the current placement of soccer goals in the area. As parents of a young child who spends a lot of time outdoors, the influx of traffic and vehicles in front of our home poses a significant safety concern. Moreover, the proximity of these goals to our yard increases the potential for soccer balls to unintentionally create havoc by hitting windows or entering our private space.

The green belt, which was designed as a serene and natural environment for residents, lacks the infrastructure necessary to support the increased activity of an athletic field. With no designated parking facilities, cars line our streets, leading to congestion and diminishing the peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere our neighborhood was originally intended to promote.

Relocating these soccer goals into residential zones is not a viable solution due to safety risks posed to residents. Instead, they should be returned to the shed and add fencing to the original location.
