Ryan Upchurch is a YouTube “creator” with a subscriber count of 2.95 MILLION subscribers. He has amassed his following from his bizarre and hateful content with “country music” sprinkled in. He creates fake beef with people for views and he thinks it’s funny that people are “stupid” and gullible. He absolutely THRIVES off of this. Many articles have been written about this very subject. 

Recently, Ryan has inserted himself into the “True Crime” space on YouTube. He makes commentary videos about cases in a very hateful and defamatory way. Specifically, the Kiely Rodni case has Ryan behaving in such a disgusting way that it has become such that it shouldn’t be allowed on YouTube. Creators have been banned for FAR less than Ryan is currently engaging in and we need to come together to make this happen. I am all for free speech, but not hate speech and certainly not at the emotional expense of another. He is hurting people, causing emotional distress, engaging in defamation and slander and he doesn’t care. It puts money into his pocket and it needs to stop. 

Kiely Rodni is a 16 year old girl from Truckee, CA and was found deceased underwater in her vehicle in August of 2022. The case and investigation is still ongoing. Ryan has made several conspiracy videos where he speaks matter-of-factly about how “Kiely Rodni isn’t real” and anyone who thinks otherwise is a “f*cking idiot”. Yes, you read that right. Ryan is making videos telling his millions of followers (who are die-hard and believe everything he says and they trust him)- that Kiely Rodni doesn’t exist and that her case is fake - all so that the “people involved” can make money off of the situation, including her family. Kiely’s family is grieving the most unimaginable loss and Ryan is using her death as a means to entice his fans and followers to harass the family that just lost their loved one. It’s absolutely disgusting and defamatory behavior. Furthermore, he has recently brought a girl into the situation by the name of Callie Ross who he is claiming is actually “Kiely Rodni” and that it’s all a ruse so everyone can make a “f*ck ton of money” by pretending Kiely is a real person. Sounds insane, right? This is actually happening and Ryan is the ringleader of it all. This poor Callie girl is now receiving so much hate and harassment by Ryan’s followers because of what he says in his videos. Absolutely disgusting. 

Edit to add: Ryan has now started claiming that the Gabby Petito case is ALSO a big conspiracy hoax as well and that this is just how it is with these “big cases these days”. We are talking about innocent girls who have lost their lives! This is madness! 

Ryan has also engaged in bigoted ramblings and blatant hate speech & bullying of other creators on the YouTube platform. He has made several “response videos” where he calls people out for having a different opinion to his and while doing so, he uses hate speech and slurs. He has called people “fa*got”, “fat f*ck”, “herpe lip”, just to name a few. He’s enticing his fans to harass and bully other creators on the platform and he’s even gone wayyy too far and has made some SERIOUS accusations about creators that I can’t even say on here because it’s THAT bad. Very very dark, disgusting accusations that aren’t true and not only that, they’re very damning accusations to boot. He’s making stuff up at this point and it has to stop! This in itself is against YouTube terms of service but reporting his videos has not been effective as of the time of writing this. He doesn’t deserve to have a platform anymore. He has abused his position to a degree that no rational thinking person could ever condone. He is abusing his position as a public figure with millions of eyes on his every word to garner views and clicks that put money into his pocket; all at the expense of innocent people who deserve to be able to grieve the loss of Kiely Rodni without the constant berating from his fans which he himself has set in motion. It’s all coming directly from him and the defamatory, hateful videos he is making. This has to stop. 

Please consider signing this petition to show YouTube that we as a community do NOT accept this abhorrent behavior and that YouTube should ban him for his actions. Ryan Upchurch should be held to the SAME STANDARD as everyone else and as such, should be permanently banned for breaking several terms in the YouTube platform TERMS OF SERVICE. Signing this petition says that you do not condone nor support hate speech and defamatory statements that hurt people deeply. If he isn’t stopped, who knows what family will be next in his selfish endeavors. He only cares about himself and everyone he affects will continue to be hurt by him. He will not stop unless something is done. Even if you don’t know about these videos, I encourage you to go search his name and see for yourself. Let’s shut this down so that the family can grieve in peace.
