There have been many instances throughout Rush Limbaugh's talk radio career of offending groups of Americans, including in 2007 when he labeled any American soldier who supports an end to the war in Iraq as "phony."
He has made a veritable fortune by being toxic, poisoning the well of rational political discourse for the last 20 years. He dodges responsibility for his words and their effects, just as he dodged the draft.
His reaction to the Wisconsin protests is not surprising -- it's vintage Limbaugh -- yet he has met his Waterloo by attacking, en masse, the protesters as "a bunch of people who feel entitled to be freeloaders."
What he and other right-wing conservatives who vilify the Labor Movement fail to realize is that first responders are among those rightfully and peacefully protesting Governor Walker's attempt to essentially cripple unions by taking away collective bargaining rights.
That's right. Limbaugh called 70,000 protestors -- many of whom are firefighters and police officers -- "freeloaders." Protestors standing up for not only their hard-earned right to have a voice, but for the rights of all workers, the foundation of America's endangered middle class.
Please check out the following link which shows a clip from "The Ed Show," in which the host, Ed Schultz, interviews protesters, including first responders, for their reaction to Limbaugh's baseless insults. (Please note that neither MSNBC nor The Ed Schultz show are associated with this petition.)
To quote Ed Schultz: "If you want to follow the Limbaugh and the Becks of the world, and you want to turn your back on firefighters, turn your back on police officers, turn your back on nurses, turn your back on brothers and sisters who have stood in solidarity to fight for the middle class in America? Is that wrapping yourself in the flag?"
It's imperative we get this insidious, demoralizing speech which is UNEQUOVICALLY UNPATRIOTIC removed from American Forces Radio and Television Service (formerly known as Armed Forces Radio). We, the taxpayers, demand that our taxes not fund unpatriotic hate speech any longer.
Please sign and share this petition to show that you stand with firefighters, police officers, teachers, nurses and other public sector workers -- indeed all hard-working Americans -- who do their jobs well, jobs which contribute to our society on a daily basis, and oppose media personalities with no moral integrity whose goal is to sow seeds of hatred between American citizens via lies and distortion.
IT'S TIME FOR THIS FALSE PATRIOT, WHO REGULARLY INSULTS and/or VERBALLY ATTACKS OTHER AMERICANS -- INCLUDING TROOPS AND NOW FIRST RESPONDERS -- BE REMOVED FROM ARMED FORCES TELEVISION AND RADIO BROADCASTS! SIGN IN SUPPORT OF NO PROPAGANDA BEING ON MILITARY AIRWAVES.
Send the petition letter to Congress, join our Facebook page, and pass it on!

I respectfully demand that you take action to remove The Rush Limbaugh Show from American Forces Radio and Television Service (formerly known as Armed Forces Radio) broadcast schedule immediately, as taxpayer dollars should not be funding such unpatriotic, divisive speech which demoralizes the morale of our troops and citizenry.
When Mr. Limbaugh recently referred to all of the protesters in Wisconsin, which includes our honorable first responders, "a bunch of people who feel entitled to be freeloaders," he crossed the final line.
He has previously insulted our military by calling them "phony soldiers" if they oppose the Iraq War. He has insulted and attacked so many groups of American citizens that record of his hate speech fills the Internet, as you are no doubt fully aware.
I, as a taxpayer, demand that this false patriot be removed from American Forces Radio broadcasts immediately. His particular brand of toxic "entertainment" has no place on publicly funded airwaves aimed at our military personnel.
