Remove [Redacted] from Hercules school

The Issue

Having experienced [Redacted] teaching methods directly, I can no longer stay silent. Several friends and I have found that [Redacted] does not adhere to the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and 504 plan accommodations that are crucial for students who require them. This lack of compliance is causing detrimental effects on the education and well-being of many students at our school in Hercules, CA.

IEP and 504 accommodations are not optional; they are legally mandated rights meant to ensure that students with disabilities receive an equal opportunity to succeed alongside their peers. When a teacher like [Redacted] consistently fails to honor these accommodations, it not only affects academic performance but also damages the self-esteem and confidence of the students involved. 

Research shows that when teachers do not support these accommodations, it significantly hampers the learning experience of students with disabilities. According to the National Center for Learning Disabilities, nearly one in five children in the U.S. has a learning disability. Yet, only about half of these students getting the support they need. This statistic underscores the vital importance of teachers adhering to IEP plans. Hypocrisy in teaching reflects a bad image for educators. Having said that, [Redacted] has ordered students to not use AI, which is all the more reasonable. However, [Redacted] continues to use AI for occasional lesson plans/activities. Using AI to check students work for AI is discourages students from completing work because of errors in AI checking. It creates a classroom atmosphere that is not supportive and reflects hypocrisy. With that, [Redacted] also boasts about [Redacted] education and three degrees. [Redacted] continuously tells [Redacted] students that, “[Redacted] knows.” It makes [Redacted] seem arrogant and ignorant. Teachers should know what they are talking about and we have no doubt [Redacted] is well educated. However, students should be treated with a respect. A respect of not feeling that we are not knowledgeable.  We believe every student at Hercules deserves a nurturing environment that supports their educational journey. With a teacher who defies educational norms and dismisses student needs, the opportunity for growth and learning is severely compromised. Therefore, we respectfully urge the school administration to take decisive action to ensure that all IEPs are honored by either reassigning or removing [Redacted] from [Redacted] current teaching position.
