Remove Police Chief Chris Hamilton

The Issue

On November 29, 2023, City of Jesup Georgia Police Chief, Chris Hamilton, took it upon himself to murder 2 perfectly healthy great dogs named Sherlock and Birdie. There were three open kennels as four other sweet dogs were killed two days earlier, so this was NOT done because space was needed!

This is the agreement the City of Jesup made in good faith:

STATE OF GEORGIA }{
COUNTY OF WAYNE }{
CITY OF JESUP }{
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DATE: JUNE 29, 2022
OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
CITY OF JESUP ANNOUNCES NEW TERMS FOR
COOPERATION WITH WAGS RESCUE
JESUP, GA – The office of the City Manager of the City of Jesup is pleased to announce that the City has proposed new terms for its cooperative agreement with WAGS Rescue pertaining to the hold of impounded animals at the City's animal impoundment facility (the “pound”).
These new terms extend the period of time that the City’s pound will hold impounded animals, thereby giving WAGS Rescue more time to facilitate fostering or adoption of such animals.
Currently, the City’s Ordinance requires that the City hold animals for a period of five (5) days, prior to initiating the process of humanely euthanizing animals that are not claimed by their owners. Under the City's new proposed terms, the City will agree to hold the impounded animals for a total of fifteen (15) days. In addition, in the event that the pound is not at capacity or near its capacity at the time of an animal’s impoundment, the City will extend its hold of such animals for an additional fifteen (15) days, for a total of thirty (30) days, prior to humanely euthanizing such impounded animals.
The City’s hope is to never have to euthanize any animal, and the City is, therefore, delighted with the opportunities for cooperation with WAGS Rescue to facilitate adoption and fostering of impounded animals, who are not claimed by their owners.

Telephone: 912-427-1313

Chief Hamilton refused to honor this agreement and killed these precious dogs.  Both dogs already had rescue commitment and Sherlock had a foster coming to pick him up. They were killed BEFORE the designated cutoff time!

Chief Hamilton should be removed from office and charged with animal cruelty, please sign to let the City of Jesup hear your voice! Be their voice!

REMOVE CHIEF HAMILTON!
