I, like many other gamers from over 100 countries, have experienced the problem of PlayStation Network inaccessibility. This restriction prevents us from enjoying games on PlayStation consoles and online in PlayStation PC games. This is unfair considering Nintendo and Xbox have no such restrictions.

A telling case in point was Helldivers 2. When Sony required PC players to tie up PSN accounts by 4 June 2024. Players from over 170 countries were faced with the fact that it was impossible to tether an account. To solve the problem, Sony removed Helldivers 2 from sale on Steam for 177 countries without explanation.

According to data from Sony, the PlayStation Network has over 123 million active PSN users as of December 2023. However, these numbers could have been much higher without the regional restrictions.

We urge Sony to remove regional restrictions for PlayStation Network and make it easier to change account regions to the same level as its competitors Nintendo and Xbox. Changing this policy will help expand PSN's audience and enhance the gaming experience for users around the world.
