Peter Dalglish is a convicted pedophile and a billionaire with significant ties to dubious activities. His name appeared on Jeffrey Epstein's infamous list, a name synonymous with heinous crimes against humanity. Yet, despite these grievous associations, he remains a recipient of one of Canada's highest honours, the Order of Canada. As a society that champions human rights and justice, it’s imperative that we do not glorify or endorse such individuals.

The Order of Canada is a prestigious award granted to those who have demonstrated excellence, courage, or exceptional dedication to service in a variety of fields. Allowing Dalglish to retain this honour sullies its prestige and contradicts its very purpose. When we continue to acknowledge and award such individuals, we inadvertently endorse their actions, sending a message that contradicts the values this distinction is meant to represent.
