We, the undersigned parents, guardians, and concerned members of the Pleasantdale community, are requesting the immediate reassignment of Almir Emso from their current position in the classroom at Pleasantdale Elementary.

It has come to the attention of many families and employees of d107 that Almir Emso has been the subject of serious concerns that have deeply impacted the trust and sense of safety within our school community. He was arrested for criminal sexual abuse against a minor.  The d107 administration then let him return to a student facing role. He is currently co-teaching with the gym teacher they hired to replace him. In 2026, he will be teaching students alone.

As parents, caregivers, and employees of the district, we believe that those who serve in educational roles—especially with young children—must meet the highest standards of conduct and community confidence. When substantial concerns exist, continued classroom placement undermines student well-being and parental trust.

We are calling for:

The complete removal or reassignment of Almir Emso to a non-student-facing role.
A clear, transparent process for evaluating teacher fitness when serious, credible issues are raised by the school community.
An open forum for families to express their concerns and ask questions of school leadership in a respectful, structured setting.
We emphasize that this petition is not about punishment—it is about protecting the integrity of the school environment, restoring family trust, and prioritizing our children’s emotional and psychological safety above all else.

We respectfully urge the district to take swift and transparent action in response to these concerns.
