My loved ones live in Terrell, and I am tired of hearing stories about being treated harshly and aggressively by Officer James Melton. Whenever I visit, what should feel like the warmth of a welcome is replaced by the chilling arctic of fear and mistrust. Instead of assurance, there's an unspoken dread of crossing paths with this officer. This is not how it should be. Our community deserves better. I'm starting this petition so the community can see what is going on and so our families can feel safe again.

Officer James Melton has been a divisive figure within the Terrell community for too long. The community deserves to know the truth, and appropriate actions should be taken based on the findings of this investigation.

Additionally, Officer Melton should be immediately removed from duty until such an investigation is concluded. It is in the best interest of public safety and trust for him to be temporarily relieved of his duties to prevent any potential further distress or harm.
