Remove Neglected Horses from Owner in Cherokee County

The Issue

For 16 years, I've been deeply involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of neglected animals, particularly horses. Having retired from my role as an investigator, my mission has been to offer a sanctuary for these incredible creatures who have endured years of hardship. Some of the horses under my care have persevered through significant neglect before finally finding peace, love, fresh food, and a clean environment to spend their final days. This experience strengthens my resolve to speak up for those who continue to suffer.

In Cherokee County, NC, there is a situation that demands our urgent attention. Horses under a particular owner's care have been chronically neglected for 16 long years. Among the most basic of their needs being ignored is access to fresh water. Without intervention, these majestic animals will continue to live under dire conditions, lacking not only water but the basic care they deserve.

The patterns of neglect are clear and consistent. According to local observations and reports, these animals are left wanting in terms of not just hydration, but nourishment and safe shelter. This issue not only violates basic ethical standards but also contravenes animal welfare laws. Numerous calls for intervention have gone unheeded, and it is time to mobilize a community response.

We are putting a name and a face to suffering today. Imagine living without access to one of the most fundamental resources—water. Imagine seeing a creature, whose very nature is defined by its grace and strength, reduced to a shadow of its potential.

Action must be taken now to have these horses removed from their current owner and relocated to environments where they can receive appropriate care. Only by raising our voices together can we compel the relevant authorities in Cherokee County to act swiftly and decisively.

I urge you to add your signature to this petition and help bring justice and comfort to these animals. Your support can ignite change, transforming prolonged suffering into a chance for renewal and care. Please sign the petition and stand with us in doing what's right for these horses in need.
