Thank you to everyone who has already signed and shared this petition. Your support has built real momentum.
However, we now urgently need your help with the Legislative Assembly (LA) e-petition.
A preferred site decision was announced in early February. The LA e-petition closes on 26 February, and the total number of verified signatures at that time will determine the strength of the petition when it is formally presented to Parliament by Scott Leary.
If we want it clearly recorded that this decision is not accepted by the community — and that concerns about engagement, transparency, and the “do no harm” principle remain unresolved — then the time to demonstrate that is now.
This is separate to the Change.org petition.
Even if you have signed here, you must also sign the official LA e-petition.
Why this matters:
It is formally tabled in Parliament.
It becomes part of the official record.
It cannot be dismissed as informal feedback.
Numbers carry weight.
Please:
Sign the LA e-petition.
Ask at least one friend or family member to sign.
Help anyone who is not confident with technology to complete it.
Important:
When completing the LA e-petition form, you must verify your email before the final submit button will appear.
After entering your details, click the prompt to verify your email. Then check your inbox and open the verification email. Click the link inside that email to confirm your address.
It is essential that you keep the original petition webpage open while you do this. Do not close it. The page must remain open during the email verification process or your signature will not complete properly.
Once you have clicked the link in your email, return to that same open webpage. Ensure all required fields are filled in and confirm that the submit button is now active. Then click submit so your signature is officially recorded.
