Since this petition was created, an important new option has become available.

At the time we launched this Change.org petition, there was no way for a community petition to be formally presented to the Western Australian Parliament. That has now changed.

There is now an official WA Parliamentary e-petition open. This is the only type of petition that can:
• be formally presented to State Parliament
• require a formal government response
• be placed on the parliamentary record

Our local MLA will present this petition, but it has a set closing date, so timing matters.

This does not replace this Change.org petition. Your signatures here continue to show broad community concern and support. The Parliamentary e-petition builds on this and is the mechanism that takes those concerns directly into Parliament.
