Mr. Schomburg, a current English Language Arts teacher, routinely leaves class approximately 10 minutes early each day. This results in his 7th period students being shuffled into the detention classroom, where they are unable to continue with their class work. This treatment of the students is unfair and does not align with the standards of education.

In a system where every minute of learning matters, Mr. Schomburg’s habitual neglect is restraining our ability to succeed. According to the U.S. Department of Education, each additional hour of instruction results in higher achievement levels. By robbing us of valuable learning time, Mr. Schomburg is effectively denying us the quality education we deserve.

Further, the National Education Association asserts that classroom environment impacts student learning. Being placed in a detention class impacts our concentration and hampers our academic growth.

Our teachers should be dedicated to providing us with a comprehensive education, and letting us out of class early simply does not align with these values. Mr. Schomburg's behavior is inconsistent with the level of dedication students deserve from their educators. His continual absence from class undermines our education, growth, and success.

For the sake of our education and the standard it should meet, we are calling for the removal of Mr. Schomburg from his current teaching position. We believe it's the right step toward a fair and efficient learning environment. We urge you to stand with us. Sign this petition to support our cause.
