Remove Mike from PA and Hasan Piker from Twitch

The issue

Racism is something that none of us should tolerate. As someone who believes in equality and peace, I find it deeply disturbing that people like Mike from PA and Hasan Piker have the platform to spread anti-Semitic views and even, at times, provide a stage for known terrorists. This is not only a violation of Twitch's Terms of Service but also a violation of the basic tenets of human decency.

Mike and Hasan’s platforms have, on multiple occasions, allowed rhetoric that is offensive and harmful. Anti-Semitism has no place in our society, and it certainly should not be something that is condoned or sponsored by reputable platforms such as Twitch. Twitch’s own guidelines clearly disallow hate speech, promoting violence, or allowing for the dehumanization of individuals based on their religion. By not taking action against these individuals, Twitch is inadvertently endorsing this behavior and sending a message that such actions are permissible.

A recent survey by the Anti-Defamation League highlights a troubling increase in anti-Semitic incidents, both online and offline. In 2020 alone, incidents rose by 12%, the sharpest increase in recent history. By continuing to provide a platform for those who spread these ideologies, we are complicit in allowing this dangerous trend to flourish.

Additionally, known terrorists and those who support them should have no place on platforms that connect so many people globally. Giving them a platform only allows for the spread of violence and hate, further endangering marginalized communities.

The goal is simple: enforce Twitch's own community guidelines that very clearly denounce hate speech and the platforming of individuals who violate these rules. Removing Mike from PA and Hasan Piker from Twitch sends a clear and strong message that anti-Semitism and support of terrorism are unacceptable.

Sign this petition if you believe in maintaining a world where all are safe from hate and violence, and where platforms like Twitch enforce their policies fairly and justly. Together, we can rally for a safer, more inclusive online environment.
