The Issue

Michael Bax is the disgraced chairman of Kent Wildlife Trust who was forced to eventually resign because of his links to hunting in the past, being ex-master and huntsman of the Blean Beagles and hosting shoots on his land.

It turns out he is now a 'Key Partner' to Kent Police advising on rural crime.

If this isn't a conflict of interest and corruption at its best, then we don't know what is.  How can you have a person with hunting interests as a Key Advisor to police regarding rural crime - of which fox and hare hunting is a big part.  Every week hunts all over the country are blatantly hunting as though the Hunting Act does not exist.  Hunting is a criminal offence, as rural crime and illegal.

Mike Bax's role as Key Advisor goes a long way to explaining why, when we call the police to attend an illegal hunt, they rarely turn up and, if they do, nothing is ever done and the hunt are left to carry on.  All they need to tell the police is that it is a trail hunt and the police are satisfied - despite the evidence in front of them and evidence we present to them.

We will not rest until Mike Bax is removed from any partnership or association with Kent Police, which will thereby allow illegal hunting crimes to be investigated fairly, the law upheld and justice served.

The Key Advisor to Kent Police on rural crime needs to be someone neutral and with no connection whatsoever to rural crime.
