Petition to Remove Meg Ryan from the BMCHSD Board of Education

We, the undersigned, strongly oppose Meg Ryan’s continued service on the Board of Education of the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District (BMCHSD).

Recent events, combined with prior concerns about her conduct and judgment, have made it clear that Meg Ryan is not fit to hold this position of public trust. Instead of focusing on the needs of our students, families, and schools, Meg Ryan has allowed personal agendas, questionable decision-making, and negative publicity to distract from the core mission of the district.

From the earlier controversies that raised serious concerns about her judgment and integrity, to the more current developments that have only deepened the community’s doubts about her ability to lead, Meg Ryan has consistently shown that she is unable to represent the best interests of our district in a fair, transparent, and responsible manner.

As members of this community, we expect our Board of Education trustees to serve with professionalism, integrity, and a singular focus on what is best for our students and schools. Meg Ryan has failed to meet that standard.

We therefore call upon the BMCHSD Board of Education, and upon Meg Ryan herself, to take immediate action:

Meg Ryan should resign her position on the Board of Education.

If she does not do so voluntarily, the Board should take all necessary steps to ensure she is removed.

Our children deserve leadership free from scandal, division, and self-interest. The Bellmore-Merrick community deserves better.
