The Issue

The events of September 11th, 2001 are etched into the heart of every American who lived through that tragic day. Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives in a horrific attack carried out by Islamic terrorists that shook the very foundations of our nation. For me, and countless others, the anniversary of 9/11 is a solemn day of remembrance—a day to honor the memory of those who were killed, their families, and the heroes who risked their lives to save others.

It is a sacred moment intended to reflect on the loss and demonstrate unity as a nation. This is why I am deeply troubled and offended by the action of mayor  Zohran Mamdani and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) who, during a 9/11 memorial ceremony, found it appropriate to laugh and show complete disregard for the somber nature of the event. Their behavior not only disrespected the memory of the victims but also displayed a shocking insensitivity to the pain still felt by survivors and families nationwide.

Such conduct is unacceptable for elected officials who are expected to represent and uphold the values and sentiments of their constituents. Their actions on this sacred occasion exhibited a lack of respect and empathy, questioning their ability to serve the people with the regard and seriousness their roles demand.

We call upon the relevant authorities to hold Mamdani and AOC accountable for their behavior by removing them from their office. By doing so, we send a clear message that such disrespect will not be tolerated and that the memories of those we lost will not be disrespected.

Please sign this petition to demand action against those who fail to honor the solemnity of this tragic day. Let us stand together in ensuring our public officials maintain the dignity and respect required of their office.
