The issue

Personally, as an Australian citizen, I have felt humiliated and insulted by Lydia Thorpe's actions and statements. I firmly believe she is not representing our country's values and interests correctly. Her anti-Australian stance is not only unacceptable, but it's also damaging to our national reputation. Lydia Thorpe is a current member of the Australian Senate. For those who are not aware, in our parliamentary system, senators are entitled to a substantial allowance, which is funded by taxpayers' money. Despite this, Ms. Thorpe has continued to voice opinions and support causes that are against the sentiments of mainstream Australians.

The Australian Constitution gives the Governor-General the power to remove from office any senator who is found guilty of misconduct. This power has been rarely used, but its existence provides a means for the Australian people to demand accountability from those who serve in public offices. Her admission that she never swore allegiance to the Queen and treated the whole thing as a joke is a massive insult and proves she is in the Senate under false pretences.

On the basis of these considerations, this petition seeks the removal of Lydia Thorpe from her position in the Australian Senate and the revocation of her senatorial allowance. As Australian citizens, we must hold our elected officials accountable for their actions, particularly when they fail to uphold the values and interests of the people they are supposed to represent.

Please consider signing this petition to the Governor-General for Lydia Thorpe's removal. Let our voices be heard. Let us take a stand against conduct unbecoming of a public servant. Let's protect the reputation and values of our great country.
