We, the undersigned, demand the immediate removal of Dr. Jeffery Taubenberger as Acting Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Taubenberger is a long-time aide and advisor to Anthony Fauci. Taubenberger is a practitioner and defender of dangerous gain-of-function (dGOF) research and is an opponent of regulating dGOF research. In addition, Taubenberger played crucial roles in defrauding the US public and US policy makers about the origin of COVID.

Taubenberger’s views and track record put him squarely at odds with the administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” agenda. He has spent decades performing and applauding high-risk experiments, dismissing safety concerns, evading federal oversight policies, and shielding Fauci and Fauci's insiders from accountability. His appointment as Acting Director of the NIAID undermines efforts to protect Americans from the dangerous gain-of-function research that caused the COVID-19 pandemic and is a direct betrayal of the President’s and HHS Secretary's promises to end dGOF.

We must end the reckless research that caused COVID, killing 29 million, and that is poised to cause future pandemics.

For the safety of the American people, Jeffery Taubenberger must be immediately dismissed.
