I am a massive fan of VALORANT esports. Even as someone who doesn’t even really play that much VALORANT nowadays, it’s always engaging to watch people at the highest level play this game. Whether it be another Paper Rex setplay like the Sunset Sage wall + Raze from the Masters Toronto finals, or Fnatic’s 1-11 comeback against NRG in the Champions Paris Grand Finals. This is a very enjoyable game to watch people play at the highest level. My favourite region though to watch is Pacific. The sheer excitement of watching these teams play always thrills me.

But, its main downside is who is in charge; Jake Sin. We could spend a long long time to take a look at what he has done, But let’s look at the most significant issue, shall we?

The significant favouritism towards big name Korean orgs like Gen.G and T1. Hell, this is towards Korea as a whole, as Korean players like Lakia and Sylvan get to wear their noise cancelling headset half on half off, to be able to hear the casters in the room. In addition, T1 players get to smoke in the bathroom while RRQ players were penalised for the same offense. There are many many more reasons I can get into, such has how he effectively killed the OCE T2 scene by discontinuing OCE Challengers (tbf though viewership wasn’t very high), but the current favouritism towards Korean teams is the main reason
