Remove Islamic Republic Supporters from Canada

The Issue

Petition to the Government of Canada and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

We, the undersigned, call upon the Government of Canada to take immediate and decisive action to investigate and, where appropriate under Canadian law, deport individuals residing in Canada who openly support, promote, or are affiliated with the Islamic Republic of Iran and its designated entities, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Canada is founded on the principles of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. Many Iranian Canadians have fled their homeland to escape persecution, violence, and repression at the hands of this regime. Allowing individuals who publicly endorse or glorify such a regime to reside freely in Canada undermines these principles and creates fear and insecurity within our communities.

Public displays of support for a regime widely condemned for systemic human rights violations; particularly when such support includes endorsement of state violence or intimidation; raise serious concerns about public safety, foreign interference, and the well-being of those who sought refuge in Canada.

We further submit that a number of individuals currently residing in Canada have been publicly identified as expressing support for the Islamic Republic or its enforcement bodies. These individuals are listed below based on publicly available information and observed activities:

We respectfully call on the Government of Canada to:

Enforce existing laws related to inadmissibility on grounds of security, human rights violations, and association with sanctioned entities
Conduct thorough and fair investigations into individuals who publicly support or promote the actions of the Islamic Republic and its enforcement arms
Ensure that no person who supports or is credibly linked to organizations involved in repression, violence, or terrorism is permitted to remain in Canada
Protect Iranian Canadians and all residents from intimidation, surveillance, or threats linked to foreign regimes
Canada must remain a safe haven for victims of oppression; not a refuge for those who support or enable it.

We call on the Government of Canada to act swiftly, lawfully, and decisively in the interest of national security, public safety, and the protection of democratic values.
