Young Amalia was forced to wait in a long line with her parents to obtain medication that doctors had prescribed for her. And it seemed forever. Amalia became critically ill and was rushed to the hospital. Amalia spent ten harrowing days there, battling life-threatening respiratory illnesses. Makes you mad? It should!

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions have detrimental effects on our communities. Stories like Amalia's are not isolated incidents but part of a larger, alarming pattern where families live in constant fear of accessing necessary services, which should be a basic human right. ICE's presence creates a chilling effect, preventing individuals and families from seeking the medical assistance they need, leading to dire health consequences.
