I am creating this petition on behalf of my friend, Discord user "iBadAtEnglish" who has been unjustly banned from the Cool-People Discord Server. The accusation hurled against them was of racism, a claim I know my friend is innocent of. The sole evidence offered by the staff was a brief statement with no proof to substantiate the claim. Efforts to rectify the situation through appeal have been stonewalled, with staff refusing to take action or discuss the matter further.

 

 

 

 

Discord, an online platform with over 140 million monthly active users, is often a space for diverse conversation and should honor principles of fairness and transparency (source: Discord's official reports). Yet, this scenario paints a different picture. Misinterpretations can occur in communication; however, every user should be entitled to a fair system where they can defend themselves against accusations.

 

 

 

What makes this situation more difficult is that iBadAtEnglish not only lost access to a social server they enjoyed, but they also lost an essential part of their social network. This ban impacts their social interactions, causing them to miss out on precious virtual connections in this digital age, which is deeply unsettling.
