REMOVE Hydropowerplans from National Parks in KOSOVO

REMOVE Hydropowerplans from National Parks in KOSOVO

The Issue

Kosovo’s National Parks (Sharr and Cursed Mountains) are home to diverse ecosystems, rare wildlife, and vital water resources that support local communities and natural habitats. Since 2014, the eight illegal hydropower plants within these protected areas have begun degrading ecosystems, threatening biodiversity, reducing water availability for communities, and diminishing the resources these parks offer.
Since our government has NOT taken any action to remove the HPPs.

WE- ACTIVISTS from KOSOVO call on the government, the international environmental agencies, and relevant stakeholders to take immediate action to remove the hydropower plants in Kosovo’s national parks to protect biodiversity and to ensure that the local community has access to clean water.

Your signature supports our stand to remove the hydropower plants in national parks.

Together, we can STOP the degradation of our National Parks!
