Petition update.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has shared this petition, signed it, and taken the time to engage with this issue. Every share, every signature, and every conversation matters more than you may realise.

I also want to acknowledge those in the legal, Indigenous, advocacy, and human rights spaces who have shown interest, reached out, or offered support. Your attention to this issue is important, and every bit of support counts.

At this stage, I am awaiting responses from the Premier, the Minister for Corrections, and other local and state Members of Parliament who have been contacted in relation to this petition. This process takes time, but it is moving.

I am also currently in discussions with the media to ensure this issue remains visible and cannot be ignored. One death in custody is one too many. When considered alongside our current rates and statistics, it is clear that this is not an isolated issue but the result of systemic and preventable failures, including the continued presence of hanging points, inadequate mental health care, and the ongoing neglect of basic human rights within custodial settings.

This petition exists to push for accountability and meaningful change. Thank you to everyone who continues to stand with me in calling for action.

I will continue to provide updates as things progress in the meantime, please continue to share and sign where you can and thank you to everyone who has already✊
