Thief's 1, 2, and DS brought back from abandonment... recreating the enemies, adding new ones, and updating everything in the newest version of the game... this would be taking in the dark mod team(s) and using the latest version of unreal (base engine was based off of unreal engine technology i think) and rebuilding the game series from the ground up... the list: - get as much information as still exists about the original series and were looking glass and eidos where taking the overall story arch of the game and garret before the abortion that ended up being the 'reboot' of the thief series into something horrid that didn't have the slightest to do with the original game series, and ultimately had no business being given the thief name at all. the original series could be expanded into a single game, having to navigate the city to get to the quest locations as well as working on any quests and subquests you might need to accomplish along the way and while in those areas... exploring the world of thief to its fullest in a open environment, using canals/roof tops/walls/bushes and vines to scale and move through the environment and interact with everything and everyone in unexpected ways... working your way despite all the competition, guards, undead, guilds, animals/creeps/monsters, and more?! i dont know about you but i love the original thief series too much to let it lie in squalor without the touch of the Trickster, The Builder, and other gods of thief... while moving beyond the current taffers that haven't a clue about how thief games should work... using a global lighting/shadow, global sound, as well as a dynamic way for arrows, potions, and mines affect visibility of garrett and his movements including how fast he is sneaking and whether he is standing/crouching moving quickly or slowly... creating that sense of whether you will be found out or not as you sneak past, incapacitate, and/or rob people, or killing if you are a no talent taffing murderer... become more skilled as you gain upgrades and complete achievements that have a bearing on gameplay itself... practicing your trade to get to the answers you have earned, saving the world or maybe condemning it?, or doing neither... imagine seeing consequences that are both immediate and farther reaching throughout the game, how would you conduct yourself knowing that every action and choice will always have consequences?, if you kill that woman/man will you be able to gain access to a house or storage or something else later in the game, will it cause you to be unable to complete certain sub quests while in certain areas because of a heightened awareness of all guards and religious groups? how will the story of garrett be told through the choices you make?... would it be possible to move through the game without killing anyone?. you should be able to decide how garrett's story ultimately ends in accordance to the original storyline and what you gain or lose on that road you make for yourself. taking queue's from the original game series as well as what is being accomplished with the dark mod, this would be the starting point and would propel the game series and storyline even further than before and to finally becoming the true keeper and possibly more?!. after all we don't know if the true keeper is a god or just a avatar or personification that is taken up every generation, and some other bits of story from families to government to individual npc's throughout the story arch have developed or could develop beyond were the information cut off. maybe we can take all of this to its ultimate Thief game and experience, making the game moddable and updatable by the community that loves the series as always. let Thief rise again as it was always meant to do...
