The Issue

We demand that ITV Sport immediately stand Gabriel Clarke down from England’s remaining 2026 World Cup tournament coverage.

Following England’s hard-fought 2-1 quarter-final victory over Norway, Clarke used his broadcast position to actively manufacture a toxic, non-existent rift between manager Thomas Tuchel and Man of the Match Jude Bellingham.

Instead of celebrating a historic win that puts England in the semi-finals, Clarke focused entirely on stirring up cheap dressing-room drama:

Baiting the Manager: Clarke repeatedly tried to trap Thomas Tuchel into blaming the squad's "mentality" for a sloppy performance, forcing a furious Tuchel to shut him down and state clearly that the team's heart and mentality were "world-class."
Distorting the Truth: Minutes later, Clarke interviewed Jude Bellingham. Instead of congratulating the two-goal hero, Clarke selectively fed him a twisted version of Tuchel's tactical critique ("the manager said the team got lucky"), entirely omitting that Tuchel had just called Bellingham's display "world-class."
Undermining the Squad: This lazy, manipulative attempt to bait a young player into an emotional "Whatever" response directly after a grueling 120-minute match was designed purely to create division in the camp ahead of a major semi-final against Argentina.
Our players and coaching staff are pulling together for the country. ITV’s lead interviewer should not be actively working to tear them apart for clicks and headlines.
