Hours after Houston ISD residents delivered the sharpest rebuke to date of Superintendent Mike Miles, shooting down a $4.4 billion bond proposal that became a referendum on his administration, the district’s state-appointed leader made one thing clear.

He’s not bending to voters.

Mike Miles' retaliation against the parents was anticipated, beginning days after the bond failure, with Miles engaging in a game of musical chairs with principals at various campuses.

At Harvard Elementary, the principal has been replaced by Sharon Pe Benito. This change has sparked controversy, especially after Community Voices for Public Education (CVPE) obtained email exchanges between Mike Miles and Sharon Pe Benito.

The emails sent through HISD's email platform contain conversations that are not typically suitable for discussions with a supervisor. You can view the email exchanges here.
