We the people petition the American Samoa elected officials to remove requirements of vaccination to enter the U.S. Territory, as it is a violation of our God given rights (see American Samoa Bill of Rights Sec 1,2,4,16.) (see attached Notice to this Petition) Taking the Covid-19 vaccine goes against our beliefs. We believe that Covid is a pestilence and only God can deliver us from this. Our faith teaches us to believe in God at times like this and if we take the vaccine then it goes against Romans 14:23 "But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith: and everything that does not come from faith is sin." Taking this vaccine will activate this scripture in our lives. This is our faith. 

Our Motto "Muamua le Atua" seems to be forgotten in the midst of this panedmic. Allow us to stand on our faith and belief, that this vaccination is not going to protect us from this virus, rather our faith in God will. 

Per the Declaration of ongoing public health emergency and state emergency dated April 28, 2022; Governor Lemanu P.S. Mauga "encourages" people to get tested for COVID-19 and "encourages" people to get vaccinated. The definition of encourage means to give support, confidence, or hope to (someone). So, if it is encouraged then why is it now being enforced as a requirement to enter the territory?

Also stated in the declaration under the Entry requirement sec 7 states that an exemption may be made by the GAR, however GAR (LT Gov Talauega) stated in Samoanews that the only exemption from full vaccination are children under 5 years of age which is a direct contradiction to what was stated in the declaration entry requirement sec 7.

American Samoa Government needs to find a way to accommodate the unvaccinated people who live on the island as well as those who want to enter or leave without requiring showing proof of vaccination card.

We do not give the ASG authority or consent to mandate decisions about our personal property (body) and is not allowed to make decisions for people without their explicit consent. This is a fundamental human right and we refuse to be discriminated for not being vaccinated.

We believe a government forcing people to get injections against their free will or creed is a direct violation of their human rights. Every human being is entitled to free will and basic liberties especially within the means of basic human needs and resources for day-to-day life. By requiring people to be vaccinated/fully vaccinated is depriving people of life, liberty, property, privileges and/or immunities. It is completely reprehensible to deny any person(s) their God given right to free will. 

Everyone should have the right to choose whether they want to get vaccinated or remain unvaccinated. The mandate of being fully vaccinated or vaccinated to enter the territory must be removed, it is unconstitutional. We call for an overturn on the decision to withhold unvaccinated individuals from entering American Samoa as well as any business or facility in the Territory. We the people take this stand against unlawful declarations that prevent us to live freely and to enjoy life.
