Today, I read that DOGE is threatening to stop social security if the SSA doesn’t comply with providing them with all the sensitive data of Americans. This is not about cleaning up the waste, but it is for something more serious I fear.  The whole administration is to destroy America as we have known it. 

My fears as a mother for children worldwide is the driving force behind this petition. Removal of U.S. provided medical care around the world raises alarm. I have close friends who are working in healthcare are witnessing first-hand the damaging effects; they are losing the ability to treat Medicaid patients and experiencing funding cuts for medical research at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. Along with DOGE firing all CDC investigations of diseases, and the removal of all vaccine information from the CDC website.

Elon Musk’s current influence and decision-making role within the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) must be reconsidered. Since its formation, DOGE has brought upon serious implications for federal employees and national security. The layoffs of 85,000 federal employees portrays the mass disruption within the federal workforce. Additionally, the leaked classified government information reveals the department's lack of responsibility in handling sensitive information. They have accidentally fired 300 employees who handled nuclear weapons and now the government doesn’t know how to reach them.  

On Valentine’s Day, at least 1,000 national park rangers’ positions were eliminated due to the so called DOGE cuts foe efficiency.  On February 25, 600 NOAA Weather employees lost their jobs. Now, 45,000 IRS employees are planned to lose their job after tax season. 

“At least 11 federal agencies that have been affected by those moves have more than 32 continuing investigations, pending complaints or enforcement actions into Mr. Musk's six companies,” according to a review by The New York Times.

Elon Musk, with no experience within government operations prior to DOGE, could potentially undermine the functionality of our government. Let's ensure our government is run by those who have the proper experience, not just a technological and entrepreneurial background. Reign in the overreach of DOGE, prioritize healthcare for all, and reinvigorate our federal workforce.
