Remove Dr. Kopicki, school board and the attorney and implement restroom policies
The Issue
In our local school district, a fundamental issue has surfaced that concerns the safety and privacy of all our children. As a parent, I am profoundly alarmed by the current state of restroom policies being implemented by our school board, led by Dr. Kopicki, and advised by their attorney.
Recently, our community has seen increasing concerns about boys using girls' restrooms and locker rooms. As a mother, I feel an urgent need to speak out against a policy that disregards the voices of concerned parents, as well as the comfort and safety of female students.
The refusal by Dr. Kopicki, our current school board, and their legal advisor to enforce a bathroom policy that keeps boys out of girls' facilities is unacceptable. This choice not only disrupts the learning environment but also puts at risk the privacy and dignity that every child is entitled to in our schools.
Safety and privacy are fundamental rights, and when ignored, they compromise the very foundation of our educational institutions. Numerous schools across the nation have already enacted policies that cater to the needs of all students while preserving the essential privacy and safety of gender-specific facilities. Why is our district not doing the same?
We have repeatedly voiced our concerns, only to be met with indifference and inaction. As parents and community members, we must demand accountability from those in power. By removing Dr. Kopicki, the current school board, and their attorney, we can pave the way for responsible leadership that prioritizes student welfare over ideological debates.
Let's stand together and call for a change that reinstates parental trust, reinforces student safety, and respects the privacy of all. Sign this petition to insist on implementing a coherent restroom policy and bringing responsible leadership to our school's administration.
