The middle schoolers in Black Rock Middle School find the double rims quite a disappointing feature that's all over the school. There are many pros to them, but the cons out weight the pros.

1.) They are not good for shooting

Shooting is the most prominent asset of basketball. Double rims are a big obstacle for shooting. For example, people who shoot on regular single rims shoot worse because the double rims are thicker than singles, and taller. This makes their usual habits of shooting useless, making them  create some ego issues among students.

2.) Ego

People who shoot worse then they usually do develop an insecure ego making them rethink their skills. This can make them unstable mentally and can affect their playing when in a real game. 

3.) How the cons out weight the pros

The only purpose for doubled rims are to prevent bending of hoops from dunkers and the area that supports it. This is a good reason for double rims, if anyone can dunk of course. Dunking is middle school is basically impossible. It is very improbable for anyone to be able to dunk, even if they could they can't bend the rim. The weather can only tear down the net when playing, not the hoop itself. There are way to many cons for double rims.
