Discord has been continuously asking for age verification through government IDs, credit cards (!!), or face scans. Despite claims that the information doesn't get stored anywhere, Discord doesn't have the reputation to be able to claim so.

Alongside, Discord has notably had a massive data leak before which resulted in hundreds and thousands of faces, IDs, DMs etc getting leaked which goes to show how fragile their security really is.

 Additionally, many large verified community servers like our own have built events around the Stage VC interface because its UI allows for an easy way to separate event participants from an audience and separates speakers from muted people, features which ordinary VCs lack. We understand that Discord is trying to improve the safety of minors, but these servers already have trustworthy moderation teams who ensure the safety of everyone on these stages. Hence, the speaking restrictions are only taking away already safe environments' abilities to host fun community events utilizing Stage VCs, forcing members into choosing either giving away their personal information to a company with an unsatisfactory privacy reputation or missing out on many events.

As a result, we want the complete removal of Discord's age verification or, at a minimum, allow members under 18 to speak on Stage in verified Discord community servers.
