Our lives were forever changed when a vicious dog attack tore our family apart. My father, a Vietnam Veteran, had to carry our beloved dog, Gonzo, in his arms, cruelly dismembered by a neighbor's dog. This horrific event has triggered severe PTSD episodes in my father, leading to many sleepless nights and disrupted mental health.

The trauma doesn't stop there. My four-year-old autistic grandson was a witness to this terrifying attack, which has caused ongoing panic attacks that disrupt his daily life. My fourteen-year-old daughter, overwhelmed by the violence she witnessed, has been deeply affected, as have we all. Our family is left with emotional and financial burdens - the cost of euthanasia for Gonzo, extensive medical bills, and the loss of income due to time off work have placed undue stress on us.

We are calling on our local authorities to step in and demand justice. The neighbor must be held accountable for their dog's actions, which have caused irreparable damage to our family. It is crucial that this dangerous dog be removed from the neighborhood to prevent future tragedies. Holding the neighbor responsible for the costs associated with this horrifying event is the least they can do to begin to repair the devastation their dog has caused.

Our neighbor had neglected to secure her dog. He had chewed through a chain linked fence. After the attack she replaced her fence with a brick wall. Adding an RV gate with two side gate doors, adding value to her property. While the gate was being built our family had to secure or dogs from her property for over a week, accommodating our neighbor.  

Our neighbor also displays her fear of her dog roaming our community.  She used to walk him daily in the neighbor. Now she takes him behind our property on Central and Van Buren about a mile from our property.
