Remove convicted pedophile Nazir Ahmed’s Lord peerage

Remove convicted pedophile Nazir Ahmed’s Lord peerage
Why this petition matters
We want a law to be created that when a Person with a peerage such as ‘lord’ commits a crime and is convicted and incarcerated it is then removed. At present Only an act of parliament that has received royal assent can revoke a peerage permanently. The last time this punishment was enforced was during the first world war on the grounds of treason when two lords fought "for the king's enemies"
Nazir Ahmed was found guilty in January of a serious sexual assault against a boy and the attempted rape of a young girl. The abuse happened in Rotherham when he was a teenager. On the 3rd February 2022 The court heard Lord Ahmed, who was tried under his birth name Nazir Ahmed, attempted to rape the girl twice in the early 1970s, when he was aged 16 or 17 but she was much younger. The attack on the boy, who was aged under 11 at the time, also happened during the same period. The 64-year-old had denied the charges, calling them a "malicious fiction", but a phone recording of a conversation between the two victims in 2016 showed they were not "made-up". He is now serving a 5 and half year prison sentence.
We live in a modern and forward thinking society and how can it be in 2022 that when someone is convinced of such a horrible crime that person then gets to keep their peerage.
