Remove Captain Michael McIndoe from Pacific Palisades Fire Station 69
The Issue
I lost my home in the Pacific Palisades Fire on January 7, 2025. What happened that day was preventable. This was not a natural disaster. It was a failure of leadership and emergency response that destroyed homes, memories, and lives across our community.
As a survivor, I have spent nearly 17 months digging through reports, sworn testimony, and evidence. The fire started as a reignition of the Lachman Fire that began on New Year’s Eve, January 1. Captain Michael McIndoe of Fire Station 69 was directly involved in the mop-up operations.
He has been the captain there for over a decade and knows the terrain better than anyone. He knew the fire was not fully out. He knew pulling the hoses was premature. He was aware of the red flag wind warning and that the Santa Ynez Reservoir was empty. Yet he failed to stage fire engines or take the necessary precautions. This is a textbook case of negligence.
The consequences were devastating. Embers from the January 1 fire reignited on January 7, resources were not properly positioned, and delays left residents completely vulnerable.
Our demand is simple and clear: The immediate removal of Captain Michael McIndoe from his leadership role at Fire Station 69.
Pacific Palisades deserves real leadership. Sign this petition to hold him accountable and remove him now.
Share it with everyone in the community. Together we can force change.
Thank you for standing with the survivors.
